Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, we used to be friends.

The kind that smiled big and the days never end.

Then one day, I thought, "Why not something more?"

So I closed the old hinges and opened new doors.

Maybe I'm just losing my mind.

I told myself that I'm wasting my time.

And maybe I was right.

I still remember that night.

Adrenaline in my heart.

That's what tore us apart.

I'm not supposed to dwell, I'm supposed to move on

Or maybe it affected me

more than I let on.

Once upon a time, I used to hear your name

and feel butterflies.

But now I hear your name

and my head is in a chokehold

with a thousand knives.

And the sharp tip

of every blade

feels vague.

I don't know what feel,

with time, will the memories seal?

You swore me as an enemy

but will it last for infinity?
